Samuel Appleton completed his PhD in qualitative research exploring family social capital in agricultural firms. The final thesis presented and integrated three perspectives of the phenomenon: an internal, external, and temporal perspective. He is now seeking to expand this perspective of the multigenerational family firm. To accomplish this, he is currently undertaking a second qualitative research project concentrating on family firms and their transformation into industry 4.0. He has various teaching experience in management education such as social enterprise, operations and supply chain management, new venture creation, digital working, and organizational behaviour.
