The “Intergenerational succession in family business management” project addresses two main research questions: “What is the role of a strong legacy with the past in shaping the future of the family firm across generations?” and “How does intergenerational autobiography as a tool for reconstructing the past influence succession in family firms?”

The aim of the project is to:

• Investigate how family firms manage their legacy with the past in order to understand the idiosyncratic process of succession in family firms and ensure the future of the family firm across generations,
• Increase the awareness toward the role of generations in family business succession and unveil related underlying mechanisms.
